A string of attacks against the power grid in Arkansas may be the first in a coordinated insurgency pent on making the Natural State a little more natural.

According to the FBI, two power line poles in Lonoke County, Ark., east of Little Rock, were intentionally severed on Oct. 6, 2013.

Six weeks before, the FBI followed up on a report by Entergy Arkansas that a high-voltage transmission line had been toppled, also in Lonoke County.

Federal investigators said that an unknown person or persons connected a metal cable between a transmission tower and a train track close by in order to, according to the FBI “utilize a moving train to bring down the tower.”

In another incident in Lonoke County on Sep. 29 that the FBI is investigating, an electrical substation was set on fire.

Investigators found, on a nearby control panel: “you should have expected U.S.”

The FBI believes that the three events of power grid sabotage may be linked and have claimed that saboteurs used a stolen tractor in one of the events.

Forbes has released a Google map showing the power line locations in Lonoke county. Of interesting note, the site of one of the attacks is less than three miles from Sherwood Forest.
