Getting Quieter Now…

Hi Everyone,

The dolphin activity around the Kessock Channel and Chanonry has dropped away almost to nothing now – the salmon run has finished and other shoaling fish like mackerel and sprats are taking the dolphins out to sea a bit more. I did see Squat Fin and Zephyr with their babies plus young Breeze recently in very sparkly water (as you can see in the photo below) but it has been very quiet in the Inner Firth.

Barbara Cheney from Aberdeen University has seen Spirit and her two year old calf hunting for small fish near Nairn while out on the last Photo ID trip of the season last Monday so good to hear that they are doing well. Have a look at Barbara’s blog by clicking HERE

Best Wishes,

Charlie
